Lady Patriots post back-to-back wins, seeking home advantage

Franklin Pariish girls basketball coach Cassandra Wiley has never had a first-round home playoff game.

Back to back wins over Bastrop and Lincoln Prep have the Lady Patriots vying for that milestone.

Franklin Parish's girls are 14-9 and sitting at No. 16 in the Class 4A power rankings.

The top 16 teams host a first-round game.

"That's our goal," Wiley said. "We just have to stay focused."

Franklin Parish defeated Lincoln Prep 70-48 in Grambling Saturday.

Zinerra McCarthy led the Lady Patriots with 24 points. Laki Crockett and Ka’Daja Hanks added 12 each, while Shemira Boley-Brown netted 11.

Franklin Parish's girls defeated Bastrop 54-35 Friday.

McCarthy led the way with 24 points, while Crockett added 15.

Franklin Parish's boys snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 6-point win over Bastrop on Friday.

Zyon Thomas led Franklin Parish with 19 points.

"Every game is a must for us now," said Franklin Parish boys coach Terry Martin.

The Patriots host Simsboro Thursday.
