Dear Editor:

Winnsboro and Franklin Parish were blessed beyond measure to have two of the most distinguished basketball coaches in the state of Louisiana visit last week.

Coach Dale Brown of L.S.U. and three-time all American player and Assistant Coach E.J. Lee Ok of ULM.

Coach Brown is an inspirational speaker and spoke to many adults and students. His words were inspiring.

Thank you goes to Joe Gravelle, his family and Life Church for getting these coaches to come to our town.

The question I have is, Where was the towns athletic director Bobby Rose and mayor Jackie Johnson?

Such an honor to have influential coaches in our area in the sports world and no athletic director showing up, demonstrates lack of awareness and concern for our citizens and our youth. What a treat for our young people to get to meet and talk and learn from such distinguished coaches.

We lost a great opportunity for our children.
