Ouachita Parish sheriff's deputies arrested a Monroe man on suspicion of domestic abuse (aggravated assault and child endangerment) earlier this month after authorities received a complaint of a domestic disturbance on Northgate Drive.
The victim she was arguing with Michael Louis Hickson, 30, of 21 Northgate Drive, Monroe, and claimed Hickson pointed a black handgun at her and told her to go inside. She said she feared for her life.
The victim said her four-year-old daughter was with her at the time.
The victim had an active restraining order against Hickson.
Hickson provided deputies with an incorrect date of birth, according to the Nov. 17 arrest report.
During questioning, Hickson said he argued with the victim but denied owning a handgun. During a search of the residence, deputies found a black Hi Point handgun, matching the description given by the victim.
Hickson also was a convicted felon.
He was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center for violation of a protective order, domestic abuse battery (aggravated assault and child endangerment), possession of a gun by a convicted felon, and resisting an officer.
