Monroe poloice are investigating a shooting that occurred on Renwick Street last week that resulted in a severe injury to one victim among a crowd of juveniles.

Shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, Monroe Police responded to St. Francis Medical Center where contact was made with a victim who was shot one time in the right thigh.

The victim stated the shooting happened on the 3000 block of Renwick Street; the victim alleges several juveniles fired multiple shots. The victim stated he knew the identity of the shooters, but refused to cooperate with police.

A few hours later, just before 1:30 a.m., Monroe Police responded to a shooting at the corner of Renwick Street and MLK Blvd. Police located one victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was airlifted to a regional hospital and is currently listed in stable condition. Detectives are following up on leads in the case.
