Monroe police arrested a Monroe woman on suspicion of simple battery and aggravated assault last week after authorities received notice about a fight over a crock pot at a home on Orange Street.

Jamica Marquesa Chisley, 29, of 801 Orange St., Monroe, was accused of striking a victim with her hands.

“Chisley also armed herself with a screwdriver and attempted to harm the victim by swinging the screwdriver at the victim,” stated the Jan. 7 arrest report. “The victim advised that Chisley also took the screwdriver and put a hole in his air mattress which he had paid for.”

Police observed a red mark on the victim's neck as well as a hole in the victim's air mattress.

During questioning, Chisley said she argued with the victim but never touched him.

A witness at the scene informed police they saw Chisley battering the victim.

“I placed Chisley under arrest, handcuffed (Check for Tightness and Double Lock) and asked her for her name, which she refused to provide to me and told me, 'F*** you,'” stated the arrest report.

Chisley was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center on the above charges as well as on suspicion of resisting an officer and simple criminal damage to property.
