Monroe police arrested a Monroe woman on suspicion of simple assault and violation of a protective order last week after authorities received complaints of threats allegedly made by the suspect.

The victim claimed Porschea Jasmonique Brown, 32, of 115 Vegas Drive, Monroe, threatened to throw hot grease on her once she showed up for work.

Officers made contact with Brown and found a bag containing marijuana near the suspect. Authorities also discovered a protective order forbidding Brown from showing up at the business where the victim works.

“Porschea said that she thought the protective order had been dropped and that she did not make threats toward the victim,” stated the Nov. 15 arrest report. “Porschea advised that she had just picked up the marijuana from (a) convenience store and she had three of her kids with her while buying the suspected marijuana.”

She was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center on the above charges as well as on possession of a drug in the presence of a minor.
