Ouachita Parish sheriff's deputies arrested a Monroe woman on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute last week after authorities received a tip from a confidential informant.

The suspect was identified as Tasha Nicole Tipton, 34, of 910 South Grand St., Monroe.

“After meeting the confidential informant, (deputies) monitored a phone call between the confidential informant and arrestee, Tasha Tipton, who stated she would sell a quarter ounce (seven grams) of suspected methamphetamine for $150,” stated the Nov. 16 arrest report.

Tipton agreed to meet the confidential informant at the corner of Mulberry Street and South Grand Street, according to the arrest report.

An undercover deputy accompanied the informant and reported observing Tipton agree to sell seven grams of meth for $140.

“(Deputy) provided arrestee with $140 and she in return provided (deputy) with two plastic bags of suspected methamphetamine having a combined weight of approximately seven grams,” stated the arrest report.

Tipton was apprehended. During questioning, Tipton admitted she sold the meth.

She was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center.
