Monroe police arrested a Monroe man at Parkview Apartments in southern Monroe last week after authorities received a call about a man armed with a knife and stabbing a tire on a woman’s vehicle.
The caller claimed Michael Dewayne Henry, 52, of 1101 Richwood Road No. 2, Monroe, had stabbed a tire.
“Caller advised that when he asked Henry to stop stabbing his niece’s tire, Henry ran toward him while waving the knife,” stated the Oct. 6 arrest report. “Caller advised that he was afraid of being stabbed and shot one round at Henry’s leg (no contact made).”
Testimony from witnesses confirmed the caller’s account, according to police.
During questioning, Henry said he could not recall details of the incident.
“Henry advised that he recalled stabbing someone’s tire after he was yelled at,” stated the arrest report. “Henry advised that he only remembers ‘blacking out’ and hitting the ground.”
Henry was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center.
