Ouachita Parish sheriff's deputies arrested a West Monroe man on suspicion of false imprisonment last week after authorities received a complaint about the suspect dragging a woman into a trailer.
Deputies made contact with the victim whose clothing appeared to have been torn and had marks on her body.
She told deputies she had argued with John Patrick Callahan III, 33, of 697 Hwy 3033, West Monroe, before trying to leave.
“As she attempted to leave, John grabbed her, causing her to fall,” stated the Nov. 25 arrest report. “John proceeded to grab the hood of the victim's sweat shirt and drag her up the stairs and back into the residence, refusing to allow her to leave.”
The victim provided video footage that showed Callahan chase, grab and drag the victim as described, according to the arrest report.
During questioning, Callahan admitted he grabbed the victim and brought her inside the trailer but denied dragging her.
“John further stated he did not want the victim outside in the rain and stated he was going to take her to her mother's,” stated the arrest report.
Callahan was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center on the above charge as well as on one count of domestic abuse battery.
