West Monroe police arrested a Georgia man on suspicion of criminal trespass and obscenity last week after authorities received a complaint about a suspect watching pornographic videos on a laptop at the electronics department in Wal-Mart.

Alexander David Pearce, 38, of 166 Sandisfield Drive, Sharpsburg, Georgia, also was accused of inappropriately touching himself inside the store.

After arriving at the store, police learned the suspect was walking outside the store.

Police made contact with Pearce. When asked what he was doing in Wal-Mart, Pearce told police he was watching “music videos on a laptop.” At first, Pearce denied watching pornographic material but later admitted he was looking at “pictures,” according to the Nov. 20 arrest report.

Pearce denied touching himself inside the store. He claimed he was dirty from an incident earlier that day.

Police viewed the store's video surveillance footage and observed Pearce leaning over a laptop with his hands inside his pants.

Pearce was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center.
