Speaking of going back in time, my good friend KAYDELL JACKSON invited me to be her guest for the Review Book Club that was held in the old antebellum home of DIANE PASCAL on Roselawn Avenue… Diane moved back home, several years ago, from Texas and purchased the grand old lady that happened to be on the market at the time. This was the home where Kaydells late husband Dr. Jack Tom Jackson had grown up in and where, so many years ago he carried his new bride over the tresh hold. Walking into this wonderful house brought back fun happy memories. Fifty or so years ago Kaydell and I became fast friends with having children the same age….if walls could talk, what a story that would be…. and a great book to review at our fun book clubs. I promise you would not be bored!

Is it just me and my age or is time really moving that fast? Christmas was here and gone before I could say Eggnog, Fruitcake, Hogshead Cheese and Helen Corbitt’s Sand Tarts…..Either I forgot or I did not have time to make my favorite cookie… Sand Tarts… they are so easy and so delicious.. let’s just make them for Valentine’s Day! See the recipes below! …..

Happy birthday to DENNIS ROGERS …one of my very favorite boyfriends… Dennis never forgets me on Valentine’s Day……

You know I love Hogshead Cheese… and it is so much fun to make. It would be perfect for your Valentine Party… You could pour it up in a pretty heart shaped mold and decorate it with red pimentos and pretty green sprigs of fresh parsley… serve with saltine cracker…

Speaking of time flying, maybe 10 years ago, this young cute attorney in our church, with a darling wife and two little boys running around…DAVID MCMILLIN and wife LEESA, two little boys CODY & BRADY, it was always fun seeing them. …..Mid morning, so many years ago, David rings my doorbell and is bring me a plate of his Hogs Head Cheese to try… Ever since we have been exchanging samples of one of our favorites… David, my family thinks you beat me this year. Yours was delicious… Watch out, if I do not forget how to cook, I will be ready for you!

Be kind to all and I look forward to the next time!

Dianne
