Mr. and Mrs. Charles Michael Belue

Lauren Brooke Lee of Calhoun, and Charles Michael Belue of Ruston, exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony at the groom’s childhood home in Dubach, on January 2, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with Kevin Meredith, friend of the bride’s family, officiating.

Lauren is the daughter of Debbie Lee of Calhoun, and the granddaughter of Gloria Calhoun Lee of Calhoun, and the late James G. Lee of Calhoun. Charles is the son of Joan & Danny Cardin of Homer, and Mike & Kim Belue of Ruston, and the grandson of Esther Petersen & the late Dr. W.C. Petersen of Homer, and the late Marian & Jim Belue of Osceola, Ark.

Lauren was given in marriage by her uncle, Scott Lee. She arrived for her special day in her late grandfather James Lee’s 1938 Chevrolet coupe, driven by her uncle Scott.

The bride wore a floor length ivory mermaid silhouette Allure Romance bridal gown with hints of light gold lace and tulle with lace embellishment and a softly scooped neckline with beaded back detailing featuring a court length train. She wore her great-grandmother Calhoun and great-grandmother Lee’s wedding rings and wore her grandfather James Lee’s wedding band on a diamond bracelet during the ceremony.

The flower girl was the groom’s cousin, Leah Steen and ring bearer was the bride’s cousin, Branson Lee. The flower girl wore a tulle dress with hints of plum and teal. The ring bearer wore a teal shirt with plum suspenders and bow tie.

Serving as maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Jennifer Lee. Bridesmaids were Simone Dejean and Whitney Hildabridle.

Bridesmaids wore plum colored long mesh dresses with an illusion one shoulder strap with soft side cascades.

Serving as best man was the groom’s brother, Colten Belue. Groomsmen were Joel Sheehan and Zack Sheehan.

Groomsmen wore grey Vera Wang tuxedos with plum vests and ties.

A reception was held after the ceremony featuring a peacock feather bridal cake and an LSU themed groom’s cake. Catering was provided by Linda Peevy of Jonesboro.

The first dance was to Etta James’ “At Last”. Music was provided by Randy Moore.

Lauren is a graduate of West Ouachita High School and Louisiana Tech University. Charles is a graduate of Cedar Creek High School and Louisiana State University.

The couple will honeymoon on a cruise to the Western Caribbean and will reside in Shreveport.
